The Dongfeng TZ3Z is our electric answer in that class — the unit we describe to clients as "the versatile favourite" because it handles sand and stone pits, demolition removal, road construction supply and general earthworks without being over-built for any single one. Construction tippers run a cycle that is close to ideal for a battery drivetrain: loaded out, empty back, distances of 20–80 km, returning to the same depot or site every night. Two structural advantages follow:
Construction hauling destroys under-engineered chassis through torsion, not straight-line load. The TZ3Z's 9/9/13 multi-leaf suspension and HDZ300 rear axle are carried over from the diesel-proven KC platform, which means the electric drivetrain is the only new technology on the truck — everything the operator relies on for durability is already field-proven over millions of kilometres. The tipping body options we export include hardened-steel rock bodies for aggregate, flat-sided sand bodies and demolition configurations; a PTO circuit for the tipper gear is electrically driven, so full hoist power is available regardless of drivetrain state.
A representative aggregate operation: 70 km loaded-out round trip, 3 trips per day, 280 days per year — roughly 59,000 km annually, all of it on a fixed pit-to-site route. Fuel for an equivalent diesel 8x4 at 38 L/100 km in this duty: about 22,400 litres, USD 20,000–24,000 per year at typical emerging-market prices. The TZ3Z consumes roughly 1.4 kWh/km laden-average (loaded out heavier, empty back lighter): about 82,000 kWh, USD 6,500–8,200 at USD 0.08–0.10/kWh. Add USD 4,000–5,000 in avoided engine maintenance (oil, filters, turbo, after-treatment) and the annual operating advantage is USD 17,000–22,000 per truck. On a 5-year horizon that is USD 85,000–110,000 — the entire FOB price of the truck recovered from operating savings alone, before counting carbon credits or night-work access that zero emissions unlock.

The TZ3Z is deliberately the middle path: more frame and axle than the KTA1, less battery mass and capital than the TZ3V. For mixed construction fleets that need one specification to cover many jobsites, it is usually the correct answer.
