The system is engineered for continuous full-power operation at 45 °C ambient with 100 percent state-of-charge, which is the realistic worst case for a working mine truck in West Africa, the Sahel, or equatorial Central Africa.

Cooling capacity is sized with at least 30 percent margin over the calculated worst-case heat rejection load, so that the system does not need to throttle motor power even at the end of a long shift. In real customer data from mining and urban construction fleets in Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, and the DRC, no thermal-derating events have been recorded during the past 18 months of operation.

Dust and Sand Pre-Cleaning

The standard air intake for African export is a two-stage dry pre-cleaner mounted on the cab roof, which removes more than 95 percent of particulates before they reach the main filter. The main filter is a high-capacity pleated paper element rated for 30,000 km service life in dust-loaded conditions, with a restriction indicator on the dashboard to alert the operator before filter capacity is exceeded.

Cab ventilation uses a positive-pressure filtered air system with cabin door seals replaced with heavy-duty silicone gaskets. The result is a cabin dust level of less than 0.5 mg/m³ even during driving on unpaved haul roads at 60 km/h, well below the WHO 24-hour exposure threshold of 5 mg/m³.

Altitude Compensation

Electric motors do not suffer the same power-loss penalty at altitude as internal-combustion engines, because they are not air-breathing in the same way. A permanent-magnet motor rated at 510 kW at sea level will still produce more than 95 percent of that power at 2,500 metres, compared with a diesel engine that loses 20 to 25 percent of rated power at the same altitude without a turbocharger recalibration. For operators on the Ethiopian Highlands, the East African Rift, or the Andean operations served from African ports, this is a meaningful productivity advantage.

The battery cooling system is also altitude-rated: the chiller expansion valve is calibrated for the lower atmospheric pressure, and the battery enclosure is sealed to IP67 against monsoon-rain ingress even at 2,500 m operating altitude.
